  • Restart the TV and see if the problem is resolved.
  • Turn off the TV and unplug the AC power cable (power cord).
  • Leave the TV in this position for two minutes.
  • Plug in the AC power cord (wall outlet) and turn on the TV to check its status.

If the above steps do not resolve your symptoms, the product may require repair. Go to the Product Repair section.

When the problem occurs on a screen other than the Menu screen

Problems may occur with the broadcast signal source, cable/satellite device service, IPTV, or other devices such as a DVD player.

Follow these troubleshooting steps :

If this problem occurs for a specific channel or broadcast channel, it may be due to the source of the broadcast signal.

If you are experiencing problems when connecting a TV and audio/video device via analog cable (composite or component cable) or HDMI cable, please review the following section of this article before proceeding with the steps below: Screen Problems (Lines/Mark/Strange Colors) From an Audio/Video Device

When using a TV with a self-diagnosis option, try the self-diagnosis test. For more details, please refer to the article How to use the self-diagnostic option.

Turn off any electrical or battery-powered devices that may interfere with the radio waves.

If an antenna is used, broadcast signals reflected from a nearby mountain or taller buildings may cause spectral imaging.

It is recommended to adjust the direction and position of the antenna.

Try plugging the power cord into another electrical outlet and/or surge protector.

These symptoms may occur if the electrical outlet is improperly installed or is not generating the proper voltage.

If you are using a surge protector or extension cord, they may be defective.

2. Blurred screen (fuzzy, blurred or faded)

Press the HOME button on the remote control to display the TV menu screen.

When the problem occurs in the Menu screen

Example:

 

  • The main menu screen is not clear
  • The problem may be with the TV.
  • Note: Images appear faint or the screen may turn black when the TV is used in a cold location. This is not a malfunction and will disappear when temperatures return to normal.
  • Restart the TV and see if the problem is resolved.
  • Turn off the TV and unplug the AC power cable (power cord).
  • Leave the TV in this position for two minutes.
  • Plug in the AC power cord (wall outlet) and turn on the TV to check its status.

  • If the TV is connected to an active and stable Internet connection, install the latest version of the TV software. Please refer to the article How to perform a software update.
  • Clean the TV screen. Please refer to the article How to maintain an LCD TV.
